Heather and Sterling are married, and recently celebrated 31 years together. They share their home with their dogs Seana, Arabella and their cat Renneo.
Heather grew up in the Detroit area, and attended Indiana University where she received a Bachelor and Master's of Music in Viola Performance with a cognate in violin Pedagogy. There she studied with violists Abraham Skernick and pedagogue Mimi Zweig. She also received a Performance Diploma from the Peabody Institute, studying under Roberto Diaz. Heather currently lives in Grand Rapids, where she is very active in teaching and doggie daycare.
Sterling grew up in Washington, DC, and attended Oberlin College. He spent many years performing with orchestras in Ohio, West Virginia and Baltimore. Sterling is skilled in playing all styles of music, from Classical to Gospel to Bluegrass and Rock -n- Roll. He loves to improvise and plays every Sunday at Lighthouse Church. His interests outside of music include spiritual study, woodworking and playing with Renneo, Seana and Ara.
Heather and Sterling are members of City of Pentecost Church, where Sterling performs with the church band on Sunday mornings.
